Nutaku Game Review Sakura Gamer

Hey Nutaku gamers!

It’s Robin Ek from the Gaming Ground here to take over Nutaku’s blog. Believe it or not, not only is this my very first post for Nutaku (yay!), but it’s also my first lewd first impression article that I have ever written. So even though I have written tons of other posts, this first article literally took my lewd post virginity away. Yes, you guessed it. I had quite a “learning” experience while writing up this article. Truth be told, even though I had fantasies as a kid to write scripts for porn movies, hentai mangas, and TV-series, I honestly didn’t even know where to begin.

Well, here I am, some 10-14 years later, writing a very lewd article about Winged Cloud’s ecchi visual novel Sakura Gamer for Nutaku. Right off the bat. I didn’t read the description for the game on purpose before I started the game, and why didn’t I do that? (so you might wonder). The answer is simple. I didn’t want to know what I could expect to see and hear in the game. That might actually have given me quite a unique gameplay experience, because “Sakura Gamer”(don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything!) has a very interesting build-up I have to say.

BOOB PILLOW Sakura Gamer

My point here would be that the game doesn’t jump into any hardcore lewd scenes straight from the very beginning. No,instead the game teases you for quite a long while before any real action takes place, and the game does so with areally sexy and erotic build-up. I would actually say that the build-up is similar to the old-school movies of the anime “Tenchi Muyo”, and just like that series, “Sakura Gamer” also offers a nice mix of serious, cute, lewd and emotional moments (“Sakura Gamer” takes the lewd part to another level though).

I also like the background story of “Sakura Gamer” a whole lot, since the story actually covers video game development, nerdish pop culture, anime references and Gaming-related topics. I mean, sure, the name “Sakura Gamer”does give some of that away without a doubt. Even so, I for one did not expect to experience the ride that I was given. As a matter of fact, it felt as if I had ordered a common beer, but was given a really expensive, tasty and classy whisky bottle.

I’m not even exaggerating either, because in a strange kind of way, it really did feel like I was taking part of an all-female game development team (a team that just happens to develop a lewd visual novel game). Even so, “SakuraGamer” would not have become such a great visual novel game without its colorful and interesting character gallery. So please allow me to introduce you to the main characters of “Sakura Gamer”:

NEKOHIME Sakura Gamer

Nekohime (her real name is Sayo, and she has dreamed about becoming a video game developer since she was just a little kid): A rather cute, sexy but very shy and anti-social girl who works as an IT/computer worker (she fixes broken computers and whatnot).

CLOVER Sakura Gamer

Clover (Nekohime’s childhood friend):
Clover really is the right opposite to Nekohime. I mean, she’s very attractive and cute as well, but Clover is very outgoing and social (she works as a middle-school teacher).

SUKI Sakura Gamer

Suki (Clover’s super sexy and seductive friend)
Then last, but not least, we have Suki, whom just happens to be a real-life shrine maiden (I won’t spoil anything more than that), and from my point of view, she’s the real freak of the three. Because there’s nothing that Suki won’t try at least once (no matter how crazy the idea is).

So when you combine three characters like Suki, Clover and Nekohime with a really well written plot, dialogs, and impressive visuals and designs, you got a top notch lewd visual novel game on your hands. Speaking of hands, I bet that most of you won’t be able to keep them both on the table while playing through “Sakura Gamer” (see that as a challenge if you want).

I for one couldn’t help but think about that one question that John Carmack (ID Software’s ex-graphical/tech wizard) made about games and stories in porn (the quote is taken from the book “Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created anEmpire and Transformed Pop Culture”:
"The story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it’s not that important"

Sakura Gamer

You see, for once I don’t agree with Mr. Carmack here, and that might sound strange coming from a guy. Since it’s usually said that guys don’t care all that much about the plot when it comes to porn and lewd content in general. Well, I guess that I’m one of those guys who doesn’t agree with that, because a good story and plot is truly important to me, or else I won’t find the game to be very interesting.

Sure, the story does of course matter more or less depending on the genre at hand, but I for one believe that a good story can indeed enhance the gameplay experience. A great story gives life to the characters that exist in the game world. Furthermore, a well-written story makes the characters and the game much more memorable.

And I’ll have you know that “Sakura Gamer” offers all that and more, yes, it will blow you away! You will get plenty of top-quality lewd scenes, sexy and interesting characters, well-written dialogs and a truly exciting and fascinating story that will make you cum (I couldn’t resist) back for more.

You see, this is the kind of visual novel that you just have to know the ending of, or else it will leave you sleepless wondering how it will all end (there’s even different endings as well, because you get different dialog options throughout the game. So keep in mind that every option you make will have an impact on which ending you will get).

So, yes, “Sakura Gamer” is without a doubt a top notch lewd visual novel game (you even get some good real-life advice while playing the game, not to mention good video game development tips. Well, at least if you plan to make your own visual novel). So do yourself a huge favor and pick up the game as soon as possible, trust me, you (and your sexual organ) won’t regret it!

Until next time!
